I took the middle size drawer and created this coffee table or side table.
I'm really happy with the way this turned out.
I built a base with 2x4"s and then added large bun feet and casters...
I added a split top to it...
...with a piano hinge. I painted the interior Wildflower blue...
...and the outside with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White. Then I sanded it, waxed and buffed it.I took it with me to the fair and have received a lot of compliments on it but it hasn't sold yet.....maybe today. If it doesn't sell, I'm okay with it because I will be taking it to the fair next month. Well, now I have to get ready to hit the road for day two of the fair. I hope your weekend is going well. Thanks for stopping by!

It's such a lovely coffe table.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's still unsold. It also offer storage and the inside color is really nice.
Have a good fair :-)

This is great Holly, I love the way you repurpose drawers. It's such a useful little table with the storage and I love the little label holder.
ReplyDeleteLove it Holly! I hope you had a great day today!
ReplyDeletegail
I love the pop of blue inside the table. I hope it sold. If not, maybe you could hand-paint something beautiful on top of it?
ReplyDeleteClever, and I'm wondering in my mind if a great big one with drawers all the way around could be made for a coffee table. My mind is altering the alteration.
ReplyDeleteAh-haaa...love it :)
ReplyDeleteFor a different look, can you make the legs a little longer and paint a damask stencil on the lid in the matching cornflower blue? Or add some rolled burlap roses on the stationary part of the lid. It is adorable. Good luck. I hope that it sells! I have a few large drawers just waiting for me to decorate. You've given me inspiration!! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh. Or The Springtime in Paris stencil. That seems to be the rage today! I'll bet it sells soon with that on it (distressed a bit of course!). Xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! Great job! Come link up with us at Craft Frenzy Friday at www.craftdictator.com! I'd love to see these on our link up!
ReplyDeleteLove this! You were lucky to find such big drawers. Great idea to hinge the top for storage.
ReplyDeleteNow this is just so clever. Love this idea. I would love for you to link up to my Inspire Me party that is ongoing - -http://www.astrollthrulife.net/2013/10/185th-inspire-me-tuesday.html. Hope to see you there. Hugs, Marty
