What happened to spring?....

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great Mother's Day weekend.  I planted flowers for my mom in the brick bed outside my parents front door and my dad cooked.  It was a nice time.

So now I'm wondering what happened to spring.  We just went from needing the heat on to needing the air conditioner.  The temperature today was in the high 90's!  Like 96!  And tomorrow is suppose to be just as hot if not hotter.  So before all my spring flowers disappear, I thought I'd share a few pictures of them.

My dogs went to the vet today and got a clean bill of health.  In fact, he was very impressed by them.  They weren't wild and crazy like some puppies are and by the end of the appointment they were all asleep.  So it was a good day but I didn't get any projects done.  But I did get an order last night for a headboard bench.  So all other projects (besides the puppies) will be one hold until I get this bench done.  Thanks for stopping by.

Burlap and Sheet Music Paper Flower Wreath..

Happy Friday Everyone!  I wanted to share with you the very simple, yet sweet burlap wreath I made the other night.  I had one of those straw wreaths that I've been eyeing and wondering what to make with it.  I started out by wrapping it in a cream colored cloth, but everything I put next to it just looked dull and a little boring.  So I decided to try the burlap.  The burlap added some much needed texture and made for a nicer background for everything I placed on top of it.
I pulled out my trusty hot glue gun and glued the sheet music paper flowers to it.
I then thought it needed a touch of color.  But the question was what to put with it.  Flowers were out since I was already using paper flowers on it.  Should I put some greenery on it?  No, that looked weird.  Then I remembered I had some wooden red birds.
The red birds were just right.  I used the cream colored fabric to make the holder at the top.  Now the question is, Does it need something else?  I have a rusty Welcome sign that might be just the right thing...What do you think?
I just pinned the welcome sign onto the wreath to see what it would look like.  I like the Welcome sign, but now I'm wondering if it needs to be painted cream or red to match the birds.  What do you think?  Thanks for stopping by.

Paper flowers....

This winter I really got into making things out of paper. I guess since it was so cold here and I couldn't be out in the wood shop making things out of wood, I turned to more crafty projects. Here are a few of the end results.
This is made out of sheet music. It took a while to cut out each circle and spiral but I really like the way it turned out.
I had a lot of fun making this. I added a red bird to the top of this flower and down at the base.
Sorry about the color of this one, but I think it's my favorite.
Sorry about the red color on this photo, it was dark when I took the picture and I couldn't find another pic that had the whole flower in it. I think I'm in need of a better camera. I'll add that to my wish list. Well, thanks for stopping by.
