Finding Joy...

Hi Everyone!  Doesn't that sound like a movie title or something?  Actually, it's a pretty good philosophy to live by.  So of course I had to make a sign with that saying.  I think it turned out pretty well. 

Although I'm thinking that the background looks a little too white, but maybe that's just the flash.  I painted the board black first, then added a very thin coat of white paint, trying hard not to completely cover the black, then of course I sanded it once it was dry to bring back some of the black.  Then painted the letters.  This time I did a quick sand on the letters but it's hard to tell in this picture.

Have you found the Joy in your life?  I like to think I have.  I love what I'm doing and it truly makes me happy to make things and to try to come up with new ideas.  And now that I'm blogging about it, I have found people to share it with beside my family.  In fact, I think I might have to share this with one of you and offer this as a giveaway.  What do you think?  Maybe once I reach 50 followers.  I would say 100, but that seems too far off.  Look for a giveaway soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Baseball shelf...

Hi Everyone!  A friend of mine asked me to make a baseball shelf for her husband for his baseball gear.  The slots in the top board are for hanging two bats.  The recessed slot on the top right are for several baseballs so they don't roll off the shelf.  And of course the pegs are for hanging hats or gloves from.  It's painted navy blue.

 

I like how it turned out.  And I think my friends husband was happy with it too.  It would be a great for a boys room.  Well, thanks for stopping  by.

Child's Room Sign....

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to show you the children's signs I made for one of my co-workers, but unfortunately I only have pictures of one of the signs.  I was asked to make a sign for my co-workers son's bedroom door because they already had one for his daughter's door.  So I made a sign that was navy blue with white edging and white lettering and a red and white tag that hangs from the wire with his nickname on it (this is the sign I can't find pictures for).  My co-worker's wife was so happy with the sign that they asked me to make one for their daughter.  Thank goodness I can find pictures of this one, because I really like the way it turned out. 

I'm not a big fan of pink (I wasn't a girly-girl, I was a tom-boy) but if I were, I would have wanted a sign like this on my door.

The tag on the right side is her nickname which they wanted incorporated on the side and I thought that was a cute way to add it without it being on the sign, in case she decides later on that she doesn't want it on there.  Well, thanks for stopping by.

Garden...

Hi Everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Now that the weather is finally turning nice here, my thoughts are turning to gardening.  I need to get going on getting the garden prepared and planted.  This stretch of ground was once part of a pasture but has been the garden area since I moved to the farm in 2004.  The first year, my dad and I put up an electric fence on the west side to keep the cattle out and then with my brother's help we fenced it in and ran a line of electric fence to make sure the cattle wouldn't jump the fence.  So far no cattle have made it into the garden.

I've been looking in my stash of pictures to see if I can find some pictures from years past, but so far no such luck.  So I'll make sure to take a few this year so you can see how big the garden really is.  Well, thanks for stopping by.

Potting shed....

Hi Everyone!  Happy Sunday!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I thought I'd show you the shed that I am using as my Potting Shed.  In it's former life this shed was a pig farrowing house, a chicken coop, and then it was moved to this farm where it became a coop for wild turkey's (the eggs from wild turkey's were hatched by a chicken hen), a storage shed, and now it's my potting shed.  It hasn't lived a glamorous life, but I'm ready to transform it by fixin' it up a bit.

I painted it barn red to match the color of the big barn on the south side of the house (this sits on the North side of the house).   It use to be behind the machine shed, but my dear brother moved it for me so now it sits along the fence line that is between the garden and the main yard.  There is a door on both sides of the building so you can access it from the yard or the garden.  The goose belonged to my grandmother and has seen better days.  One of it's wings has fallen off.  So it's in need of some TLC.

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to fix it up.  Any ideas?  Well, thanks for stopping by.

White Bench...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Saturday!  I hope you have great plans for the weekend.  I thought I'd share with you the bench I made for a small patio in my yard.  This bench is made entirely out of recycled and scrap pieces.  I'm still working on the chippy look, but thought I'd share it with you anyway.  Don't mind the dead grass in between the cracks of the patio.  I haven't gotten to my yard work yet, the wind has just been roaring lately.  I live on top of a hill out in the country and the sights are beautiful, but when the winds blows, you'd swear the house is going to come down around you.

I got the inspiration of this bench from a Pottery Barn catalog that came out a couple of years ago (am I the only one who keeps their PB catalog for inspiration?).  I liked the open feel to it yet you can sit on either side and enjoy the view from any direction (that's one advantage to living on a hill-hence the name Full Circle Farm and how Full Circle Creations came to be).  Well, thanks for stopping by.

End of bed bench...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Friday!  I thought I'd share with you the bench that I made for my brother and his wife as a gift.  I really love the way this turned out and if I had room at the end of my bed I would definitely make one for myself.  Mine of course would be painted instead of stained, but my brother loves the look of stained wood.  And since it's a gift...I guess he wins this one.  Don't mind the bubble wrapped feet.  It was for shipping.  I must have deleted all the other pictures because I couldn't find any of the others.

 It is made out of pine, stained a warm honey color with farmhouse style legs.  The fabric is chocolate microsuede so it cleans up easily.  It's the same fabric I used on the couch I made for myself.

Sorry about the quality of this picture.  I asked my sister-in-law to please send me a picture of it in it's space and my nephew sent one from his phone.  I think it works nice in their bed room.  Well, thanks for stopping by.
