Hi Everyone! I hope you are all getting ready to have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. I'm busy putting the final touches on my studio and cleaning my home in anticipation of my brother's family coming for a visit.
Last week something exciting happened here at Full Circle Creations. I was approached about doing a product review for Goose Creek Candle Company and I immediately said yes. Goose Creek Candle Company began as a family business which is a story I love! And I felt honored to be asked to review one of their candles.
This candle is Gingerbread Crisp from their American Heirloom line. When my package arrived I couldn't wait to get it out of the box. It smells so good. I am not a big fan of heavy scented candles, warmers or room sprays. In fact I usually only like vanilla scented things. But this candle smells good enough to eat. (Of course you don't want to do that.)
It smells so great that I had to move it from the little stand to the table because my dog Bo would not leave it alone. He kept trying to get his nose into the candle. I wonder if he thought it was food? I did say it smelled good enough to eat....
I am so enjoying this candle. I have it on the desk next to me as I type this and I love it. It's not too heavy an aroma. I love that the jar looks stylish and doesn't have a big label on it. It could fit into any decor.
Now I want to try some of their other scents...like the Whipped Pumpkin Latte and Spun Sugar. They sound equally good.
And the most exciting part of this....Goose Creek Candle Company has generously offered one of their candles as a giveaway to one of my readers. How exciting is that! They are offering one 16 oz American Heirloom Jar Candle.
Just visit Goose Creek Candle Company and come back and tell me what scent you would love to try.
For additional entries, like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter and leave a comment telling me you've done so.
For one last entry, like Full Circle Creations Facebook page and leave me a comment telling me you've done so.
And they are offering an exclusive coupon code to my readers for 25% off your entire purchase through September 30th. Just use coupon code 0910 when you check out to get your 25% discount.
This giveaway will be open until 12:01 AM on Saturday, September 8th. I will pick the winner via Random.org on Saturday September 8th. This giveaway is open to US Residents that are over 18 years of age. I have been compensated to host this giveaway but all opinions are my own. I love my new candle and have loved working with the Goose Creek Candle Company. Thanks so much for stopping by.
This giveaway is now closed.

Small yardstick table....
Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a great week. It's been very busy around here getting ready for the Labor Day weekend. My brother, my sister in law, my nephew Quinton, my nephew (the Marine) Ridge and his fiance Rachel are all coming for a visit. Ridge is flying in on Saturday and everyone else is driving here Friday night. My niece Vicki is staying home to work. She will be missed but it will be a great weekend. I can't wait to see everyone!
So tonight, I thought I'd share part two of my yardstick projects. I had 6 1/2 yardsticks left from the yardstick trestle table that you can see here. I used three of them to make this.
It's the perfect size table to have next to a recliner or chair to hold your cup of coffee and remote.
It's also the perfect size to hold my new candle. I will be taking this stand to the fair in a couple of weeks. Funny, I don't want to sell the other table but I don't have the same attachment to this one, I wonder why? But I do hope if finds it's way to a new home. Thanks for stopping by.

The top turned out great. I still have to put sealer on the it but I couldn't wait to share it with you. It's also the perfect size to hold my new candle. I love a good upcycled project and this pallet and piano top turned buffet hutch is no exception. They did a great job on it!
Another upcycled project is this tv stand turned play kitchen. How cute is this! I know some little girls who would love this!
This is the cutest bookshelf. I love how the inside is painted a pale grey. Be sure to stop by and see how it originally looked and has now been transformed into this beauty.
These Caramel Apple Enchiladas look wonderful. And they look easy enough to make that I think I might have to give it a try. Stop by for the recipe.

Yard stick trestle table....
Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend. It's been great here. We had almost 4 3/4" of rain here since the early hours of the morning on Saturday through sometime this morning. YEAH! I finished the table that I started last week except for the top coat of poly. There's just too much humidity here today to finish that so I'll add it to my list for Tuesday.
I designed it with the intent of it being used as a side table or bedside table. I also made it take to the fair next month, but I really like the way it turned out....I think I should keep it....so I have a decision to make.
I added a bit of antique medium to the top to darken some of the yardsticks and tone down the yellow a bit. It really looks so much better in person.
And the supports going between the two legs are just large enough to put a few pretties or books on.
Every time I walk by the studio and look in, I realize I like it more and more. I think I'm going to have a difficult time saying good-bye to it. Thanks for stopping by.

I took this pile of lumber and turned it into my version of a trestle table....
And used my stash of vintage yardsticks (only a few are in this picture) to create this...
...table top.
I really like the way this turned out.
I think the base gives it an interesting look.
Sorry for the flash on the black...the sun isn't out and I couldn't get a better close up without fading the black out and I didn't want to wait to show you. I designed it with the intent of it being used as a side table or bedside table. Finally...
Hi Everyone! It's finally happening......We finally got RAIN!.....
....It started last night and has been raining on and off since.
We've had almost 3 1/2" of rain. YEAH! And by looking at the radar, there is definitely more to come. If it had just come last month it could have helped the crops but I don't think it will help much now.
The ground has huge cracks in it so it won't take long for it to seep down into the soil. Normally this much rain would mean huge puddles in several areas here at the farm, but it's so dry that there are hardly any puddles.
Today, I finished working on an order for a client. I have sent her pictures of the finished product and now I'm waiting for her approval of it. I'll share photos soon.
I also finished a stand and hopefully I will have that to share with you tomorrow.
Now I'm going to take the dogs for a run in the rain - it's not raining hard right now. Have a great evening. And thanks for stopping by.

A new bench...
Hi Everyone! I know some of you are tired of seeing headboards turned into benches, but I'm getting ready for the first fall craft fair and benches are a staple for my booth. I got this headboard and foot board at the junk place that is no longer there, this past spring, you can see the original post here.
I cut apart the foot board and then started building.....that was back in May...then it was set aside until after Dad's second surgery.
I spent time a couple of weeks ago when the weather was cooler to finish building it but neglected to take any pictures of it. I painted it in Ivory latex paint and sanded it with my orbital sander to lightly distress it.

It had a piece missing from the foot that has been gone for a long time.
I used Kwik wood to fill in the missing portion and I filled all the other other cracks with wood filler. Then sanded as needed.I cut apart the foot board and then started building.....that was back in May...then it was set aside until after Dad's second surgery.

When I got home from work tonight I upholstered the seat in this fun paisley fabric.
The pictures are a little dark but then it's getting dark outside and I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to photograph it.
I think this fabric is fun. And here you can see the distressing...it's minimal....
....and a close up of the fabric.
I will be taking this to the Apple Jack's Fair in Nebraska City in the middle of September. And I hope it finds a new home. But if it doesn't...it will fit in nicely in my new studio. So either way it will be a win/win. Thanks for stopping by.Linking to:

Headboard remake....
Hi Everyone! I hope your week is going well. I've been busy working in the shop this last week since the weather has been nice. This is one of the projects that I was working on. If you remember, my aunt gave me this headboard which you can see here. It needed a lot of work so I knew I wasn't going to turn it into a bench.

http://shadesofamberinc.blogspot.com/2012/08/chalk-paint-link-party_28.html
I cut the legs off. And will use them on another project.
And used parts of a Jenny Lind crib to make the pegs. I attached them with glue and long wood screws.
I painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre. Then sanded it down.
I hand painted the letters on in black.....
...and painted the bird silhouettes and the branch.
I really like how it turned out. I will be taking this to the fall fair. I've never made one like this before. I thought about cutting the peg part off and turning it into two separate items. What do you think? Should I leave it as is? Or should I separate it? I'd be interested in what you think. Thanks for stopping by.Linking to:

I love this little side table. I could just see it sitting next to me couch. Karin did a great job with the paint and the graphic on the top of the table.
I love this quilt. I am envious of anyone who can do this. I've always wanted to learn to quilt but so far haven't had the time. I think Jann should stop by and teach me how to do this. I love it!
I love the look of this distressed dresser. Didn't Beth do a great job? Stop by and check out the coffee table she did. Nicely done!
Doesn't this look like a delicious slice of cake? But don't try to eat it.....it's not edible. It's contains a secret box inside. Stop by and check out how Adrianne made this.
This beer bread looks and sounds wonderful. I normally only make homemade bread to give as gifts at Christmas time, but this looks too good not to try.
Be sure to stop by and say hi. It will definitely be
worth it. And if you've been featured, please grab a featured button.
