Thousand year sign...

Hi Everyone!  I just wanted to show you one of the custom order signs I made recently.  It was ordered for a wedding.
It was painted with a blue undercoat and a cream top coat.....
....then it was sanded lightly to show the blue through the cream....
...and the saying was hand painted in red....
..I love this saying...and I hope the bride was happy with it...and best wishes to the happy couple.  I hope their wedding day and life together is wonderful.  Thank you for letting my sign (and therefore me) be apart of it.   Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding signs, part four

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a great day.  The weather was good...a little windy but good.  I wanted to show you the last of the wedding signs that I finished last night.  If you've missed the rest of the collection you can see them here, here and here.

I made these signs the same way I made the others.  And as always, they are hand-painted.  I think I'm done with this collection of signs for now.  I think I'll start another collection.  Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding signs, part three

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  With the snow storm this past weekend, I could only work on projects that were already in the house since it was too nasty to be out in the shop or getting to the shop.  And I had a stack of boards that were awaiting their paint jobs.  So that's what I focused on.  Here are a couple of wedding signs that I had planned on making.
I started by painting this scrap of board with a medium gray for the base coat and then white for the top coat.
I sanded it to give it that distressed look.  Then hand painted the lettering in black.
I spaced it so a date could be added to the bottom.  I didn't want to paint a date on it just to show you, so I printed one out from my computer.
And taped it in place so you could see it.  It seems appropriate to include the date on this piece.  That way an anniversary should never be forgotten.
I like how it turned out and I think it's a nice addition to the wedding line I've been working on.

Of course I had to make a sign that involved the ring.  I made this the same way as the one above.
Only this time I put a graphic behind the lettering.  It's kind of hard to see in this picture.  But it's two wedding rings joined.  I painted them silver with a white highlight.
I can't decide if I like the graphic or not.  What do you think?

I promise, I only have a few more wedding themed signs to go and then I'll be done with this kick.  See parts one here and two here.  I got an order today for four signs and no they have nothing to do with weddings.  They are four signs I've never made before and are custom designs for my client.  I was asked to come up with some signs for my client's mother's kitchen.  So I'll share those as soon as I'm done.  Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding signs, part two

Hi Everyone!  The weekend is almost here.  Yeah!  I wanted to show you a couple more of the wedding signs that I finished yesterday.  See part I here.  I still have a few others to share with you, but they were not ready yet.  My thought is that they can be used on the big day or given as a gift for the big day and then they can fit nicely on a shelf after the wedding.

I'm happy with how these turned out and how well they match the other two.  I will be adding these to my Etsy shop as well.

I think out of these three, this one is my favorite.  I loved fairy tales.  Didn't you dream of living happily ever after?

All three signs have been painted with a black base and a white top coat that has been distressed.  The lettering has been hand painted in black.  I like these three, but can't wait to show you the others.  I wish paint dried faster....Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding signs...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  I hope your week is going well.  I had a very productive day yesterday.  I want to show you a couple of the signs I finished yesterday.  I'm working on a new line of signs.  These are for a wedding or a wedding gift.  I decided to try to branch out a bit more than I have been in my shop.
This is the Mr. & Mrs. sign.
I started out with a black base then a top coat of white paint.
Once it dried I sanded and then sketched on the letters.
Then I painted the letters in black.  I thought about sanding the letters to give it an aged look but decided against it.  I still might...can't seem to make up my mind.

Continuing with the wedding theme, I made the Bride & Groom sign.
I made it just the same way I did for the previous sign.  But I sanded this one a bit more.
I almost painted the & red, but decided not to.  I also thought about making it a heart instead of the &.
Maybe on the next go round.

So those are a few of things I worked on yesterday.  Thanks for stopping by.
