My trip to Goodwill....

Hi Everyone!  This past weekend my mom and I went to the "city" and our first stop was Goodwill.  It had been about a year since I'd been to Goodwill (I don't get to the "city" very often and we don't have one here).  They had about 10 frames that I would have loved to have gotten but they were charging $24.99 for the ones I wanted and that's way out of my budget!  I also found an Ironstone chamber pot....but it's a chamber pot....I just couldn't imagine having it in my home.  But I did get some great items.
This basket is really well made and has some pastel colored stripes running through it.  I think the whole thing needs a coat of dark stain.  Does anyone know what this type of basket is called?
I got this great sleigh.  I saw this sitting on a display above the clothes racks and immediately knew I had to get it.  I can just see this all done up for Christmas in my Studio.
I just the love the details on it.
I did get a few frames despite the high prices.  I loved the detail of the wood on this square frame....
 ....And this really long frame....
...and this frame...I even liked the picture in it...but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.  So that was my trip to Goodwill.  I think I got some great items.  What have you gotten from Goodwill lately?  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Great finds! That long basket looks perfect for carrying French bread or maybe flowers? I can totally see your beautiful studio decorated for Christmas, it almost makes me yearn for Christmas :). The frames are great. Square ones are hard to pass up. Great finds. I haven't had as much luck lately.

  2. I have been trying to stay out of the thrift shops lately. I have so many projects in the wings now that I have no more space for anything until I finish a few projects. Love the sleigh and can't wait to see what you do with it.

  3. Great finds Holly, we have charity shops here that charge such high prices too. I know it's for charity but we're all trying to get by, aren't we and I think they'd sell more stuff if they brought the prices down.
Last thing I bought was a small green honey pot for £2.99, I just couldn't resist !

  4. I think the basket is for long cut flowers, herbs, etc. I've seen something like it being used by the ladies in the garden in Jane Austen flicks. I'd call it an open-ended harvest basket.
