Three little boxes...

Hi Everyone!  I hope your week is going well.  I finished those three small boxes that I started on Tuesday.  If you remember, last week I found these in my stash...

....and I made this with it....

...and I said I had three more of them...as it turned out I did have three of them, two are small and only one is larger...

 ....so I took the one large one and this stack of wood.......

 

....and made these little boxes.....

....one with the fancy rosette and two without.

 I filled the nail holes, sanded and slapped a coat of black paint on them.

Once the black paint dried I added a coat of white paint and waited for the paint to dry.  In the meantime I worked on the signs for my client, played with the dogs and answered some emails.

 When they finally dried, I sanded the white to age them.

 Then we had a little photo session.

 I like the vintage milk bottles in them.

 And of course a little bit of yellow. 

 And there they are.  I like how they turned out.  I think I'm going to add them to my bathroom once I finish the little remake I'm working on.  Note to self...get different flowers.  What would you use them for?  Thanks for stopping by.

Inside the box...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Saturday!  Well, so far we've had the rain and wind.  The snow should be starting soon.  Here's hoping it isn't as much as they have been forecasting and that the roads aren't too icy on my way to work this morning.

So last night, I decided to make a smaller box.  I cut scraps of 1x4" pieces to make this box.

I put it together using glue, nails, and a couple of screws.  I filled the nail holes and waited for it to dry.

I sanded it and painted it leaf green.  And while I waited for it to dry, I worked on a couple of new signs.

Once it was dry I painted it white and again waited for it to dry.  Back to working on the signs.

And then I got busy with my mouse sander so that some of the green would show through.

And there it is.  I think it needs a medallion on the side or maybe some lettering or numbers.

It's also a great size to hold my small bottles of craft paints.

I like it better with the vintage milk bottles.  This box is shorter than the other one and shows off more of the bottle.  But I do think it needs something.  What would you add to it?  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Little box...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!  We are in for some nasty weather this weekend if the weather man is right. We're in for a mix of rain, snow, ice and wind.  I'm hoping that the weather man is wrong, although I would take some rain.  It's awfully dusty around here.  I hope your weather is better and that you have great plans for this weekend.  I have projects to work on, cleaning to do, and a book I'd like to read....we'll see if that one happens.  

I want to show you what I made last night.  Isn't it cute?

I've been trying to make things from my stash of inventory without spending any money and only using what I have on hand or what someone has given me.  I found these in my stash.  I have four of them.  I got these about six years ago.  I can't remember what I got them for or what I was planning on doing with them, but there they were, just waiting to be used in a project.

 I found some scrap lumber and cut them down to size.

 Then using glue, my nail gun and a few strategically placed screws, I assembled this box.

 I filled the nail holes, sanded it down, and slapped on some pewter gray paint for the base coat.  And since it is the base coat, I wasn't very careful about how it went on.

When it had dried, I painted a top coat of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Old White.  And once it dried, I took my mouse sander to it.  I sanded key areas heavily and other areas very lightly.

 I had some vintage milk bottles that just fight nicely into the box.

 And I couldn't resist adding some flowers for a pop of color.

I like how it turned out.  I think I might use this in my bathroom once I decide on how I'm going to redo it.  What would you use it for?  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
