Full Circle Creations: Hand painted Field Tile Coasters...

Hi Everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. I was going through my stash of items and came across some leftover field tile from a project I did about six years ago. So I decided to make some hand painted coasters. They are the easiest project!

There are nine 4x4 tumbled field tiles in this package.

I cleaned them off and hand painted numbers on four of them.....

...and love bird silhouettes on four others. I didn't do anything with the 9th tile.

Once the paint dried I sprayed them with three light coats of spar urethane.

I have a roll of cork leftover from some projects I did about 3 years ago, so I cut smaller squares out of it to go on the back side of the field tile. I used Gorilla Glue to attach the cork to the tile.

This type of Gorilla Glue requires you to dampen one side. So I wet down a paper towel and rubbed the back of the tile with it. Then applied the glue to the cork. Once I had the cork placed where I wanted it, I set it on a board and weighted it down leaving it to dry for about an hour.

And that's all it takes. Easy as can be!

Ok both sets are bold and graphic BUT I think I like the birds the best. Or maybe I would want to display the 2 with the one of the birdie coaster. Great job!

Such a cute idea. I discovered 100 sqaure feet of leftover deck tile, if only I could make coasters out of 3x6 tiles!

Love them! Very cute. The birds are definitely my favorite! This is a great project. Seems really easy - except I couldn't HAND-paint them.

Okay...1) The birds are my favorite, 2) if I tried to freehand a bird it would look like a turtle. 3) I can't even find batteries at my house. Or my scissors. HOW do you keep stuff organized from 3 YEARS ago?!? I am in awe, ma'am. In awe.
