Let's go for a bike ride....

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share with you the project I started on Sunday but didn't finish until tonight.  I loved riding bikes as a kid.  And I've always liked the look of old bicycles.  I've been collecting images of vintage bicycles and Sunday I decided to make a bike painting.  I found a large canvas, in fact I found three of them in my stash.
....So I took this blank canvas and prepared it....
(Sorry, no photos of the individual steps).
From the Graphic Fairy
This is one of the graphics I have been collecting....and is my inspiration for this painting.

....I started by painting the canvas antique white...
...When it dried, I painted it with an antique medium.....
...and lightly sanded the canvas...
...then I painted light grey stripes across the canvas to look like boards...
...if you look close you can see the faint lines....
...And I painted this bicycle by looking at my inspiration picture....
....I added the lettering....
....and that's it.....
I now need to make a frame for it.  But I couldn't wait to show it to you.
Tomorrow is going to be a great weather day here so I'll be out in the shop building something!  Not sure what yet, but I plan on making the most of the day.  One of these days I'll stop with the paintings, but for now it's a great way to deal with the weather issues around here.  But I have to get back to building as I have a craft fair coming up soon.  Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by.

  10. I love bikes! I've really been drawn to them lately. I love the way you painted lines to create the look of a board. Your creations must fly "off the shelves" at your Etsy shop. I'm honored that you shared this at Show & Tell.

  17. What a refreshing and vibrant portrayal of a bike ride! Your artwork captures the joy and freedom of cycling beautifully. Speaking of movement and transitions, it's interesting how diverse elements come together – much like the concept of "cash for cars removal Adelaide." As you've depicted the flowing lines in your artwork, responsible disposal practices like these also flow seamlessly, ensuring retired vehicles find a new purpose through recycling and eco-conscious measures. Your art reminds us of the beauty in both the creative process and the steps we take towards a greener future.
