An advertising sign...

Hi Everyone!  I finished a couple of projects last night, but it was too dark to photograph them so the reveal will have to wait.  So instead I thought I'd show you what my mom picked up for me for $1.00.  My mom went to the mall in Nebraska City last week and unfortunately a store was going out of business but luckily for me, they were selling everything, including this sign.  It's huge.
I can see using this outside the Studio to advertise an Open House or at a Fair to display prices or who to make checks out to or to advertise upcoming events....
It has clips on the back to hold everything in and it's easy to open them too.  So would you have picked it up or would you have passed on it?
And since I don't have anything else to show you, I thought I'd show you a picture of my dog Bo.  Doesn't he look serious?  I have no idea what he's staring at....but he doesn't usually sit still when I have the camera out.  My other dog Bailey wouldn't stop moving or barking so I couldn't get a good picture of her.  Do your pets like having their pictures taken?  Well, happy Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by.

My nephew...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Saturday.  My nephew Quinton has been here for three weeks and today he is returning home.  My parents are meeting his Mom part way between their home and his home.
This was his first trip over by himself and we had a great time.  He was a big help to me in the work shop and we made a few things together.  He helped exercise my dogs in the pasture, climbing hay bales with them and running them until everyone was tired.
Hard at work in the workshop.  Making all sorts of things.  We had a good time together!

Thanks for all the help and the great memories!  Have a great rest of the summer Quinton!

Little Red Bench...

Hi Everyone.  The green bench at the shop sold and since I didn't have another headboard bench ready to go, I had to get something ready to fill the space, so this is what I came up with.  I apologize if the red looks pink, but it really is a nice red color.  I took these pictures at night and it's amazing how much difference natural light makes.
It is made out of recycled cedar boards that were out in the old corn crib.
I sanded it until it was smooth, painted it red, then took the electric sander back to it and distressed the paint and added a brown antiquing glaze to it.  These pictures really don't do it justice.
Then I hand painted the welcome and thought it needed a little something extra so I added the little bird to it.
Bo just had to give his sniff of approval to it when it was all done.  Well, thanks for stopping by.
