It's in the numbers....

Hi Everyone!  I love numbers.  And I love all the projects out there that involve numbers.  I saw these numbers for sale and loved them, but I didn't love their price tag.
Antique Farm House $10/number
Using these signs as my inspiration....I made these.
They are smaller than my inspiration ones.  But they are a nice versatile size.
I made these out of a long piece of scrap luan that I cut down to size.  I sanded the blocks and painted them black with a top coat of white.  I took the sander to them so the black would come through.  Then I painted on the numbers and the words.
And instead of making 10, 11 and 12....I made the number zero instead.
I was going to sand the black off some, but decided against it.
The inspiration signs are made of metal and mine are made of wood.  But I'm happy with the way they turned out.  They are small enough that I can attach them to baskets with some twine.  I just have to drill a hole in them.  Or I can hang them all together on one wall for a great statement piece.  Or I can spread the numbers around the house in different vignettes.  Now I get to play with them a bit.  Do you like numbers?  How would you use them?  Thanks for stopping by.

Oh and by the way....don't forget to sign up for the Ramsign Giveaway that I'm hosting.  Click here.

Making some type of number plaques/signs is on my to do list so these are going on my inpsiration board. No idea what I will actually do with them but I just know I need them ;)

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog - following you back !
I'd love to do some number art too - yours are great.
I like the idea of switching them around and using them in different vignettes - although I sometimes think I'm mad to keep moving stuff around and making more work for myself !

  4. I've never really felt one way or another about numbers, but I love this! My vote is for one big statement piece! Isn't it crazy to think that someone will probably buy the pricy version but your is just as sweet, if not more so, and for a fraction of the cost I'm sure! Thanks for sharing.

  13. LOVE them!!! I have a number obsession too. When people who aren't into decorating come in my house, they ask, "what are all the numbers for?" lol.

    Great project!
