Cottage Sign and a Cloche...

Hi Everyone!  The weather has been so cold here the last couple of days.  So cold in fact that there was no working out in the shop.  The furnace would NOT have been able to keep up.  Which means I don't have any new builds to show you.  I do have a finished cottage sign for a client.

I finally got the protective coating done, dried and cured.  Since it's going to be hanging outside I had to make sure that it will withstand the elements.  So it has three coats.  Plus all the paint is special outdoor paint.  I just hope my client is happy with it when she gets it.

I forgot to take a before picture of this cheese cloche, but it was very tired and sad looking.  I painted the base coat black and then the top coat white.  Once it was dry I distressed the finish.
Just a little sanding so give it some age.

And there it is.  I've plans to use it on my kitchen island with my shoo fly screen.  I was going to add a base to it to give it some height, but decided that it would look better with the shoo fly screen if it didn't have a tall base.  So I left it alone.

The weather is suppose to warm back up some next week, so hopefully I'll be able to get back out to the shop.  I'm just itching to build something.  Hope you have a nice weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I've got the space heater on in my office. I can understand why you don't want to work where it's cold. Brrrr! But your Cottage sign looks great and the cloche came out nicely too. I hate to start dreaming of spring already, but I can't help it!

  3. yep, you've sent your cold air this way. I'm freezing!

The cloche! very cute. I sold one at the booth before Christmas. I put vintage blue ornaments under it. It went pretty quickly! Thinking what can I put under it for VT's day? hmmmm

    stay warm!
